1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1-1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1 egg yolk, slightly beaten
2 tablespoons cream
Sugar Crumb Topping:
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Cream butter and sugar until light, add egg and beat well.
Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, blending well after each addition.
Turn into greased and floured 9 inch square pan.
Blend egg yolk and cream together and pour over top of batter.
Make the topping by mixing all ingredients together into a crumbly mixture.
Sprinkle over surface of cake.
Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for about 30 minutes.
Serve warm
